CRUISING IN BAY OF BENGAL

Monday, April 8th

At 3pm, our position is yellow arrow in red circle.

Today we are cruising the Bay of Bengal on our way to Sri Lanka but will not be arriving there until day after tomorrow.  As you can see we sailed past some of the Nicobar Islands this morning and the ocean is again like glass.  We turned out clocks back an hour last night so got extra sleep.  We are now 10 hours ahead of Dallas time.  The strangest thing is tonight we are turning our clocks back 30 minutes???  Weird!
I worked most of the morning on posting Phuket photos on blog and writing remarks.  I did take a break for our workout in gym.  This afternoon I plan on going up on track on top deck and walk a few miles.  Don't want to get too fat.  We ordered breakfast and lunch from room service.  I ordered a salad with cajun grilled flank steak on it but got a big strip steak with fries.  Hated to waste it but sent it back as just needed a salad. I will have to be more careful when ordering next time.  I think we will go up to Sette Mari (Italian) restaurant again for dinner tonight.  Show tonight is pianist and we do not do shows with instrumentalists.

We had a great time at dinner last night in Compass Rose.  Our cruise director, Ray Solaire, had invited us and another couple to dine with him.  The other couple, Brooks & John, were also on our South America cruise so we knew them.  They have cruised with Regent more than us and are titanium status (over 400 days on Regent).  Ray has been working on cruise ships of various cruise lines for 45 years and has lots of stories.  After dinner we went to The Liars Club in theater.  This is where never heard of words were shown on screen and 4 of the cruise staff would give their definition of the word.  A panel of guests then had to pick which of the four was correct definition.  Quite funny as the definitions were dramatically given by staff.  Guess you have to be there to appreciate it!
