Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain with a population of 1.6 million. It is a huge cruise destination. In fact, it is the number 1 cruise port in Europe and number 4 in the whole world. The weather could not have been better today. It is a beautiful city with some interesting architecture.
This the Mariner (our sister ship) doing a 360 degree turn next to our ship as salute. Everyone was on decks to wave good bye on both ships. It's a rare occurrence when ships in same port together. One good thing is during day they brought some of my cereal over from Mariner. I have been without it for a couple of weeks. Seems everyone likes Kellogg's All Bran Wheat Flakes for breakfast. Room service brought me 3 boxes this morning!
Leaving our ship this morning to go on tour.
This is cable car tower next to where we were docked. You can take it down town.
Our tour for today. Just 3 hour bus ride through city. Had to take most of the photos through bus window. I sit on back row of bus so I can flop from side to side taking photos.
They call it "art work".

Holy Family Church or "La Sagrada Familia"
They started building this church in 1882 and is not projected to be completed until 2025. There was a 40 year period that no construction was done. Being paid for totally from public funding. Will seat 8,000. Gaudi was initial architect. When we were here couple of years ago our tour allowed us to walk up to it. Just a drive by this time.

Bridge that goes over port area to where the large cruise ships dock. That is where we will be docking in October on our RCL cruise with my son and daughter-in-law.
Getting some provisions today. Below is one of essential ones!!
Below is picture of Keeva (dancer) and Julia (singer) that we dined with last night. It was a fun evening. Tonight we are dining with Goren (Food & Beverage Manager) again. We also invited Rich & Bev to join us as we will be having special veal Parmesan prepared for us by the chef. Tomorrow will be a sea day.
