Here we are in La Coruna
La Coruna has a population of 90,000 and is a fishing, industrial, and tourist town. Rebecca decided to say on the ship today so I went on the 7 hour tour to the walled village of Lugo. It was just over an hour's drive away and on the north coast of Spain also. Lugo is know for the 1.5 mile wall around the city. The wall was built 2000 years ago by the Romans. Some additional gates have been added and some restoration had been done but it is still very authentic. The walls are from 33 to 49 feet high and had 71 watch towers. The watch towers are gone now due to the age. There was a lunch included in the tour at a local restaurant near the walled city. There were 20 of us in the bus on this tour so had a long table. There were several tapas brought out "family style" then an "asada" or barbeque with different meats and papa fritas (french fries). Papa fritas here and in Argentina are sooooooooooooo good. We also had as much white and red wines as we wanted. All-in-all it was a very nice day.
