It is an absolutely crystal clear day here in Marseille and we are docked next to our sister ship, the Mariner. It is rare that the Voyager and Mariner are in a port at the same time. Mariner is what we did our Circle South America cruise on last year. It is same size but with slightly different layout. I'm not sure which I like best. Temperature at noon is 65F.
Marseille is the second largest city in France with Paris being the largest. It's population is just under one million. Located on the southeast coast it is France's largest port, and as such, is a major trade and industrial city. The port also is a favorite cruise ship destination and nearly 900,000 cruisers spend a day or so here every year. Hollywood has filmed many movies here in Marseille.
Tomorrow we will be in Barcelona, Spain.
Regent Seven Seas Mariner in from of us on the pier.
I took the shuttle bus into town. Was off the bus 15 minutes to get these photos and then right back on to return to ship.
It was a holiday today so most businesses closed.
The city was very clean.
Dinner at the Captain's table last week.
Dinner with our friend from 2010 world cruise, Walter.
After dinner photo with John & Bobbie, retired Cathay Captain and F/A.
Dinner last night with Linda & Bryan from Houston and Melody & Dave from Florida.
